Fire & Brimstone! or Burn Baby Burn!

Gainesville, FL- Rev. Terry Jones insisted he would go ahead with his plans, despite criticism from the top U.S. general in Afghanistan, the White House and the State Department, as well as a host of religious leaders and have a demonstration where he burns pages of the Qur'an. Rev. Jones's belief is that burning the pages of the Qur'an will send a message abroad to Muslim extremists that their acts of burning the U.S. flag, and teaching the Qur'an is sinful and is not tolerated. Rev. Jones is also quoted saying, "How much do we back down? How many times do we back down?" Jones told the AP. "Instead of us backing down, maybe it's to time to stand up. Maybe it's time to send a message to radical Islam that we will not tolerate their behavior." He refused to cancel the protest set for Saturday at his Dove World Outreach Center, a church that espouses an anti-Islam philosophy. Jones has also stated that his disregard for the Qur'an stems from the fact that it diminishes the roll of Christ by stating that he is only a prophet and not the son of God; which takes away his saving power. There are high charged emotions on both sides of the fence. There are many supporters; Americans, Non-Americans, Atheists, Christian, Muslims, and other sects who believe that everyone should speak out against Jones and support Muslims by condemning Jones's protests. However there are also some groups and individuals who back Rev. Jones and his stance on defending Christianity and speaking out against the extreme acts of some Muslim groups. Jones has received death threats, backlash from the media, and even believes the demanding of his mortgage to be paid in full stems from his decision. Jones's biggest opponents come from current and past military officials. Gen. Patraeus stated the Jones's protest will create problems for American troops and civilians who are currently in Muslim populated countries. Patraeus said, ""images of the burning of a Qur'an would undoubtedly be used by extremists in Afghanistan — and around the world — to inflame public opinion and incite violence."
Now the ninth anniversary of 9/11 has passed and the pastor ( I use that term loosely) has moved to NYC temporarily to preach "The Gospel" with the media @ his coat tail. Is this just a generally unknown man's ploy for the spot light or is it the "fire shut up in his bones" making Jones, spread the "news"!?! Let's talk!

Just an example of the HOT topics that I'll be discussing, things that make you go HMMM!!!!!
